Kris Says:
For someone*
Ross Profit Says:
Hi Kris, the Rookie camps are aimed to give complete beginners an introduction to the sport. No experience necessary, we hope to see you there.
Daniel.Willamson Says:

Verity- Junior Team Manager Says:
Bring your normal training kit and boots suitable for grass.
Marc Says:
Just wanted to say hi to everyone and that I will see you all in Nov, I’ve never played before so i’m abit nervous but looking forward to it!!
Danny Says:
Hi,
I’m interested used to play with my friends a little unfit now but I would love to try out. Wat would be classed as a training kit?
I have boots
Sam Battle Says:
Hi Everyone,
Really looking forward to the Rookie Camp. Are we required to attend both sessions as I may be working one of the dates?
Many Thanks
Verity- Junior Team Manager Says:
@ Danny: Training kit is sweats and boots, stuff you can find what kind you’re comfortable in on the day. Also between now and then we ask you to buy one piece of vital equipment a Gum Shield (prices between 2 and 10 pounds).
Don’t forget to register your place at: http://www.manchester-titans.co.uk/rookie-camp
Verity- Junior Team Manager Says:
@ Sam: You can attend one or both, it’s totally upto you.
Luis Larrea Says:
Hi,
Do you know the drills that will be done for Running Backs and Wide Receiver?
Ross Profit Says:
Hi Luis,
At the rookie camps everyone will learn the basic fundamentals of every position.
It will be down to the individual coaches what drills they’ll run, but in the case of RB and WR id imagine that atleast you will learn how to properly receive hand offs, run passing routes and learn catching technique.
don Says:
Hey iv just sent an email to recruitment for the rookie camp what equipment will I need
Danny Says:
Hi
Sorry to post again but I will be getting the bus from the city centre. Is there a bus that comes close to the training grounds?
Ross Profit Says:
@Don, as Verity mentioned above: Training kit is sweats and boots, stuff you can find what kind you’re comfortable in on the day. Also between now and then we ask you to buy one piece of vital equipment a Gum Shield (prices between 2 and 10 pounds).
@Danny, the 216 bus from piccadilly gardens stops almost directly outside the ground, ask the driver for the Kershaw Land stop. It takes about 20mins from the city centre.
James Says:
How many a side are the youth games?
Ross Profit Says:
Juniors (16-19) are 11-aside full kit, full contact.
Céalin Says:
I turn 16 next May, but I just wanted to check if it was vital I waited for me to turn 16…
dom Says:
when will the season next begin? how will we i find out if i am on the team? and what days will training be on?
Ross Profit Says:
@ Paul: The minimum physical requirements aren’t massively demanding, as long as you can manage to jog two laps of a football pitch you’ll be fine.
The rookie camps are mainly to give new players a taste for the game and to try every position to see where you would like to play.
Everyone will make it into the squad as we can have upto 99 registered players, however, how you perform in the main pre-season training sessions (Jan – April) will depend whether you make the starting lineup and how much gametime you get.
@Karl Jones: I can confirm that we need people arriving at 1130 both days. I cant see anywhere where it mentions 1pm, if it does this is a mistake.
@Cealin: Im not sure if there is any Leeway with the minimum Juniors age, I will find out from the Junior Team Manager as soon as I can.
@Dom: As I mentioned above everyone will make the ‘squad’. Training will be every Sunday starting in January (times to be confirmed at a later date) with an optional mid-week session (most likely on a wednesday night) 7pm – 9pm.
The structure of the 2012 season is roughly this:
Jan – March: Preseason Training
April – August: Matches on Sundays and Training when we don’t have a match.
September: Playoffs and Finals (if we perform well enough in the regular season!)
Danny Says:
Haha I so can’t wait haha its going to be great. I have already been looking at equipment. Haha I’m like a kid at Christmas
Ross Profit Says:
@Caelin, I have been informed by the Junior Team manager that you can attend rookie camps and training, but you won’t be able to play in any matches until you’re 16. There were two other players that did this last year and it was fine.
We havent had the fixtures list yet, but depending on when the season starts you may only have to miss one match. We hope to see you at rookie camps!
OakleyD Says:
I have already confirmed my attendance for the 13th (hope to make the 20th if possible) but just wondering if the senior squad are specifically in need of certain positions? Are you looking to strengthen the squad in certain areas/positions. I played a year for Handforth Hammerheads several years ago and have stuck to rugby since but followed the NFL from being the size of an NFL football – just want to know if there are some spots noticed last year that you could really do with a better rotation or starter?
Ross Profit Says:
@OakleyD,
Glad your coming down, we have a couple of guys that’re ex-hammerheads.
Like most UK teams we particularly lack depth at Oline and Dline, so if you know any big lads bring ‘em down! No experience necessary
don Says:
Can’t wait for the 13th its goin to be a blast
Céalin Says:
Cheers Ross
Céalin Says:
Would I still have to bring proof of age if I’ll only be taking part in training?
Ross Profit Says:
We can’t give a definitive answer on subs yet as these will be decided once the 2011 accounts are closed in December.
I imagine the full cost of things will be revealed at some point in January.
Players will have to buy their own lower pads and game pants, but the club do have some sets of shoulder pads and helmet that’s can be loaned out. Gameshirts are provided by the club on gamedays.
Kris Says:
Sweet, Christmas sorted! :L
Kris Says:
Would we be able to get like a list of what we need and colour wise etc (I struggle with colours!)
Ross Profit Says:
Hi Kris, the colour of pants and helmet is Royal blue, and plain white socks.
To be honest i wouldnt worry about buying the bulk of kit until mid way through january when you’ve had a few full practices with the whole squad.
This is relatively expensive sport and a lot of people realise after a while that this game isnt for them for various reasons and find themselves stuck with £££s worth of kit that they dont need.
kris Says:
Thanks! Ill wait may just buy basics if any
russ tomlinson Says:
hi,
im interested in attending the rookie camps. i have emailed the contact address, but no reply yet.
can any1 help.
cheers.
Ross Profit Says:
Hi Russ,
Have you filled out the registration form here: http://www.manchester-titans.co.uk/rookie-camp
Im guessing that as management are busy getting everything ready for this sunday they probably havent had time to reply to individual emails. If you have filled in the form and still not had a response I wouldnt worry too much, there will be forms for you to fill out on the day so you can take part.
OakleyD Says:
Ross – Russ Tomlinson is one of the O-Line boys you asked to come down from Rugby. He played American Football for the Hammerheads and for England Youths.
russ tomlinson Says:
cheers for the BIG up oakley!!
Al Says:
Will there be any chance to join after rookies day? I already have matches for my university on these days.
Dave1 Says:
Would you say 30 years old is too old ?
I’m fit and I have done wrestling before and I really want to get involved in the sport however I have never played before.
Ross Profit Says:
30′s definitely not too old. We have had plenty of guys play into their 40s, but some positions do require different fitness levels to others!
Just come down and try it out and see how you feel.
don Says:
To day ways a top and I will be back next week
OakleyD Says:
Just wntd 2 say thanks for today, Had good fun. Doubt the wife will allow 2 weekends in a row, but will see if I can make it!? Thanks again 2 all that helped out!
Stoney Says:
Looking forward to Sunday 20th
Never played before and don’t know much but willing to learn and eager to win !
kris Says:
@Paul it was purely trying out a bit of everything, lots of fun, met good people all the coaches are great!! So really It is just to see if you like it and if so what position you would enjoy. For me I mainly enjoyed the O-Line
personal preference though! See you on Sunday! Oh don’t forget your boots and mouth guard!
Rory Says:
I’m quite a small build and only 5″8, is that too small to play American Football?
Rory Says:
*junior team I mean.
Danny Says:
Great day guys looking forward to January. Its game time. Still unsure wat position to play tho
Ross Profit Says:
@ Rory, were you at the rookie camps? Anyone of any size can play american football if they have the right attitude to working hard.
But if you’re worried about your size/strength theres plenty of time between now and january for you to get to your local gym and increase what you eat. I would recommend registering on our forum then we can provide you with gym excerises suitable for football.
Hopefully see you down at training in the new year, keep an eye on the website for announcements of when training starts.
Scott Says:
hello,
i could make it to the rookie camps, does this mean i will have to wait untill next year now?
Scott
Ross Profit Says:
@ Scott, you can still join the team when the full training begins in January.
Between now and then think about what position you would like to play, as everyone who attended the rookie camps will have tried every position and by now have an idea where they want to play in the new year.
Keep an eye on the website for exact dates of when training starts.
umut Says:
Hi,
I couldn’t come to rookie camps and I have never played american football before but I want to try it. When should I come to the rugby club and talk about it?
Ross Profit Says:
Hi Umut, the dates for the start of training havent been announced yet. Keep an eye on this website as they will be posted here when its official.
In the meantime if you send an email to recruitment@manchester-titans.co.uk they will add you to the rookie mailing list and contact you if any essential rookie information is released.
Michael McGougan Says:
Hi,
Was wondering if you havn’t been to rookie training camp if you can still play for Titans?
Currently playing at university level and interseted in playing senior league.
Rookie, play NT,
Cheers
Ross Profit Says:
Hi Michael, missing the camps is not a problem, especially seeing as you’re not a rookie. Please send an email to recruitment@manchester-titans.co.uk to be added to the mailing list and keep an eye on the website and the forum.
We’ll be returning to training on the 15th January, time and location tbc.
jake Says:
Can 15 year olds join and would i need to buy the kit?
Manchester Titans Media Says:
Hi Jake, 15 year olds can train with the team, but you won’t be able to play in any league matches until you’re 16.
If you would like to train with us on the 15th January please email recruitment@manchester-titans.co.uk as you will need to bring a parental consent form.
jake Says:

Manchester Titans Media Says:

connor Says:

umut Says:

Could you please give me some information about the transportation from the Piccadilly Station to Astley Sports College.
Thanks
Manchester Titans Media Says:

Curtis Barlow Says:
