Manchester Titans American Football Club

It was messy, it was error prone, in short it was not the best offensive performance of the season but the Titans still managed to come away from Chester with a win.

Chris Heap began the scoring with a 12 yard TD Reception from Alan Mead and Ryan Farrell kicked the extra point to take the score to 7-0 in favour of the Titans. Dave Barnett ran in a 14 yard touchdown but this time the extra point was no good due to a bad snap. The was no further scoring in the first quarter which finished Titans 13 – Romans 0.

In the second quarter Ryan Farrell kicked a 36 yard field goal and had another attempt blocked with the successful kick being the only points in the second quarter which finished Titans 16 – Romans 0.

Chris Heap scored his second touchdown from a 13 yard reception of an Alan Mead pass with Ryan Farrell once again kicking the extra point to take the score to 23 – 0 in the Titans favour but this was the last time the scoreboard would be troubled.

Defensively it was another good performance from the ever efficient Titans D which ensured that the Romans have failed to score against the Titans in 2009 but the coaches will know that the playoffs will require a much better performance if Britbowl ambitions are to be achieved.
